How To Manage Stress Better With This Supplement Duo

People often look to me and ask for advice regarding natural products, so when I find supplement combinations or protocols that are effective I like to pass the info on. After all, a big part of helping people get desired results from supplements, such as how to handle stress better, is knowing how to combine them properly.

Yet, there are regulatory restraints regarding what you can and cannot say about any given Natural Health Product, and what they do. Luckily, it is perfectly fine to say what a product has done for ME, or what I have observed in my clients and customers...i.e. my own personal experience.

Neptune Krill Oil with Astaxanthin This month I want to talk about some very useful applications I have discovered for our OHV Neptune Krill Oil Optimized with added Astaxanthin 

In general, I have found it is a great aid for keeping my brain calm and helping deal with stress .

My first experience with this happened several years ago, shortly after we opened our 109 Street location. At the end of a stressful day, I had a definite tension-headache coming on in the late afternoon. My stomach was basically empty, and on a hunch I took 2 Neptune Krill and 2 Rhodiola, and was shocked at how quickly it got rid of the 10 minutes! Since then I have used this protocol with some varying additions or substitutions of the Rhodiola, countless times to help myself, staff and clients with headaches and even migraines.

The naturally occurring phospholipid matrix that krill oil comes in ensures it is quickly absorbed  by the gut and readily crosses membranes, such as those of the nervous system, and the blood-brain barrier. There is also a potent anti-inflammatory synergy between krill oil's EPA, DHA, and natural Astaxanthin. After investigating the profoundly protective properties of Astaxanthin, we added extra to our Neptune Krill Oil. (The total content was actually assayed at over 3mg per serving of 2 capsules.) 

Opti Calm Upon trying it, both I and a staff member quickly commented on how clear the formula made you feel. Since then I have used it repeatedly when working in the early morning to calm me down, and help me think clearly particularly when stressed over deadlines.

And if am particularly stressed, to the point where my adrenal glands are firing, I will add 2 or 3 capsules of OHV Opti-Calm, (which contains Rhodiola, Theanine, and Relora).

You see, the phospholipid-rich krill oil will tend to enhance the absorption of whatever you take it with by creating its own liposomal delivery system. In the end, as our understanding of physiology progresses, mark my words, what worry, anxiety, depression, and feeling stressed are going to boil down to (like so many other challenges) is inflammation, which gets triggered by the stress response. And if we can shut it off, it is amazing how quickly it can help us rebalance, and function better.
