Travel Alberta
Fall is a good time to hit the road or jump in an airplane and explore the world around us. Many people take the time to travel internationally, but few know what to pack preventatively to help them transition in a new country. Listed are a few basic recommendations for any travel kit.

1.) Probiotics: These little bad boys are essential for preventing GI upset and food poisoning from eating things you're not accustomed to while abroad. Probiotics are also great in terms of bolstering your immune system overall and preventing sickness during travel. Opt for a shelf-stable variety so you don't need to be concerned about refrigeration.

2.) Arsenicum Album: This homeopathic is specific for stopping traveller's diarreha caused by food poisoning which can save a trip in a pinch and, of course, prevent the complications caused by fluid loss and electrolyte imbalance due to diarreha. It's cheap and small to pack, so no excuse to leave without it !

3.) Oregano Oil: Nature's antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal agent, oregano oil is a must-have in the travel kit for its topical and internal uses. It can prevent infection of cuts and insect bites, and when consumed can assist with symptoms of cold and flu.

4.) Melatonin: The number one natural preventation for jet lag, melatonin is a must for those travelling internationally by plane. Talk to your natural health care provider on how to best consume this product to help you get over jetlag faster and reset your circadian rhythms so you can enjoy more than your hotel room bed on your trip !

5.) Theanine:  Some people have major anxiety when they travel, whether it be by plane or otherwise. Simply being away from home can cause the nerves to go into a panic. Theanine is a natural calming extract from green tea that boosts serotonin levels and induces alpha brain wave mode to make sure you a focused and relaxed on your journey.

6.) Multivitamin: You never know what you're going to be eating while you are away from your home and your routine so it is a good idea to cover all of your nutrtitional bases by opting to bring along a high -quality multivitamin supplement from your natural health food store. Bring one that includes essential fats and you should be covering most of your nutritional bases while you're away from the familiar !

Enjoy your trip !
